  • What is an ISBN? An International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a numeric code used
    to uniquely identify a book, right down to the language, publisher, edition – and whether it is
    an e-book, paperback or hardcover. It makes life easier for booksellers, libraries, schools,
    book distributors, and anyone searching for a book to find it.

 

  • Where do I get an ISBN? You can buy them from different places but you want to make sure
    that the place is an reputable company because some places resale ISBN.

 

  • What is an PCN? You will have to apply for a Library of Congress (LCCN) Pre-Assigned
    Card Catalog Number (PCN). It doesn’t cost anything.

 

  • What is (POD) print on demand? As a new author with a first book where the demand is
    unknown, there’s a tremendous amount of value in using print on demand (POD). It’s not
    always the best idea to invest in large amounts of inventory at the beginning of your
    publishing venture

 

  • How many ISBN will you need? You’ll need an ISBN for each format of your book. Let’s say
    you want to publish hardcover, paperback, and eBook versions of your upcoming book—
    that means you’ll need to purchase three unique ISBNs.

 

  • What is Self- Publishing? This is where the author does everything by themselves,
    including the editing, designing, and marketing of their books.

 

  • How much does it cost to publish a book? That will depend on many factors.

 

  • How long will it take to get your book published? That will depend on you after you are done
    writing your book, you will have to go through the steps of getting it properly published.

 

  • How do I do a title search? There is a site you can go on to search.

 

  • What is an non- disclosure agreement? A non-disclosure agreement is a legally binding
    contract that establishes a confidential relationship. The party or parties signing the
    agreement agree that information in or about there book  will not be made available to
    anyone else without the author permission.
